How can I exactly characterize why this game is so good? Well, when I was growing up and playing the 2d pixelated games of yore I used to spend time imagining how great games would be in the future as technology improved. But to my surprise many people from my generation who went on to make video games as a career decided they wanted to use advanced technology to create completely different types of games (i.e. all the high-end cinematic/interactive games that dominate today). I have nothing against new types of games, that's great; but I never understood why the original types of games were just left behind. I had always hoped that the types of games I knew and loved would continue to improve. DYA Games makes exactly those types of games. Strikey Sisters is a straight-forward arcade game with fantastic 2d graphics, good music, good controls, and an excellent playtime for the price. Usually getting all achievements for a game is somewhat of a labor rather than a love, but I enjoyed every minute of it in this case. Not only do I recommend this game, I recommend buying it at full price to support the creators since there are so few that create games like this anymore. Summary:Graphics: 9/10 - Not perfect, but very goodGameplay: 9/10 - There are a few hiccups (striking can miss the ball in certain circumstances, sometimes double ball does not do anything, etc.), so I can't fairly say it's perfect, but it does not detract much from the fun and more than anything I just wish there were more levels!Controls: 10/10 - Simply, straightforward, no problems here.Music/SFX: 10/10 - 16-bit era style, exactly what it should be. Only the map song is catchy though.Story: 9/10 - Of course I rate this based on the type of game it is. An arcade game like this is not supposed to have a deep story. Nothig wrong with the premise and story, but I consider this the weakest part of the game because the voice acting is rather odd sounding, it sounds like the voice actors are not very experienced. I think it would have been better to simply left it with text alone.. Status: All levels beaten (including Secret ones) and All bosses defeatedBought it on Steam sale some days ago and it already became one of my favourite games. Didn't get into Super Star Path and still lurking around Bot Vice trying to figure out if that one is up my valley, but definitely can say that Sisters is an amazing game, especially in co-op.Extremely great looking (top notch pixel art which looks on the same level as AAA SNES games back in a day), intensely fun, well thought out and really, really polished.The story is the weakest point though, it looks like it desperately tries to copy Disgaea, but fails miserably and misses all marks possible. The actors did a good job with that was provided to them, but hearing them reading such texts is...ehhhhh, better be skipping it.The game has many bosses, some of which are pretty challenging. Besides taunting the player(s), they also make funny sounds when the ball hits them, most likely these will stay with you for quite a while.Beaten in 5~ hours (before unlocking four more secret levels) and wish there was more of it. Sequel, perhaps?. Absolutely lovely casual gem.. Hard not to compare this game to Wizorb which is a long time favorite of mine. First of all both games try their best in bringing in new elements to the age old Paddle and a ball (arkanoid, krakout etc.) games and succeeds in my opinion.This particular game brings on the table the ability to 'strike' the ball as races towards you making it a crucial element in ball control as the ball doesnt really change much direction depending on where it hits the 'paddle' (in this case the female protagonist). Another important feature is the charging of the strike, something that you can't really do every time things get hectic as it takes some time for the charge to get amped up. With this 'super' charge it is possible to strike back shots that enemies shoot and make the ball break through obstacles and enemies with one shot. Enemies also roam around and sometimes come down where you are and slapping them either with melee or with the ball or magic items you collect from the field is a crucial game element. All in all a nice pocket sized game that will entertain you, challenge you and sometimes♥♥♥♥♥♥you off like games in this genre do sometimes. And good luck with the achievements. A 100% game with this one is hard. Worth the buy on any price. Full or discounted. I see nothing negative about this except hurting of my finger as one constantly charges the shot.. This game is a lot of fun. It's an Arkanoid clone meets Zelda style artwork. It's not easy either, but super fun! I love the voice acting and the production values are high.. Magical girls meet Fire Striker for the NES.Fun, fast-paced, with silly characters and story.You play as little witches in search of their lost pet.Each level consist of destroying blocks, monsters and the occasional boss.You have a set of power ups that can come in handy too. There is tons of replay value as you have to collect a gem for each stage and capture all the monsters in game with magic cards.And the game gets even more intense and fun in two player mode.I highly recommend Strikey Sisters if you like a challenging but fun addictive break out game.. I played a brick breaker I don't remember the name of way back when and this game got everything right I liked about that one and actually added in things I didn't know I wanted. I love the combat which was challenging the whole way through, and there's some secret levels in here that don't offer a whole lot extra but are still nice if you want to search for them along the way. I completed the main story by myself and have about 20% of the map left to find, but I bet it's wild with a friend. The Beastiary cards and Gems are also a fun, non-intrusive addition to each level and you shouldn't be forced too far out of your way to complete their respective challenges as you go. I'd play it again once I find a friend to play it with. Here's to hoping Bot Vice entertains me just as much!. A really great game. When I started up the game, it brought me into that memory of my youth when played those many arcade games back in the days, which they where all great times for me. This game from DYA Games, has given me so much motivation to go and create a full cabinet arcade system to have at home.Strikey Sisters brings many other game element styles into the mix. You got the map to choose which levels areas you want to start off from. just like Super Mario Brothers 3. With the gameplay style of Brick Breaker arcade gameplay, which i was very impress that this game was that kind of gameplay, but with action style in the mix. It also give that pixel arcade style feel and look.
